I just bought an 84 f150 with the 300 ci straight six and i was wondering if there are any fuel injection kits available for this engine? Cant wait to get started on working on this truck.
yes clifford performance at www.cliffordperformance.com sells a complete setup that is co manufactured by weber redline it was recently shown on the man show on spike tv. it comes complete with headers, intake manifold, computer, programer, sensors everything you need to install and it is fairly simple to do in a few weekend hours.
please let us know if you go ahead with this. I also own an '84 f-150 4x4 love it beyond death, have thought about using this kit @ $2,100 apx. it is alot but it sounds bad to the bone. Also own '85 250 4x w/460 great truck a little faster(maybe more than a little) but I never drive it. I want to trade for another 300 6. "we all" know that this is the best truck engine ever made for working trucks. I have looked @ options of turbo, supercharging and straight building a 300 but don't want to lose that grunt and mpg of stock. I think the clifford webber system sould be the real tickit ,first class, for this motor. lets prove it! build a motor w/ better mpg and pulling power than the superdutys, don't forget that system is tunable for what ever kind of performance you want and can be changed when ever. can it get any better? just alittle encouragment to gofer it from a dreamer.
unfortuneately i dont have any way near enough money for this kit, ill pribably just put some headers and exaust on for now then worry about the rest later, but firts upgrade i am doing to this truck is a 6" skyjacker lift kits, dual front and rear shocks and dual steering stabilizer . I just had a lot of work done to my 98 f150 stepside within the past few months so i need something else to take off-road. This 84 is a shortbed stepside as well, should look really sweet with the lift and a few new fenders. ill let you know if and when i do put the preformance kit on though. thanks - keyul
my kit will arrive this next week from clifford, it comes complete with headers and everything. I have been building this bronco in my shop for 3 years now, I to would not part with my 300 inline and my 1984 Bronco, It is almost finished but when I decided that the bronco would be with me to the grave (who knows maybe after) I made plans to tear it down and set it up the way I want it, I have done many of those projects over the years where you say well i can't afford it so i'll just do this for now, then spend years saying I wish I had'nt done it the cheaper way, or you go out and spend more money getting it done the way you wanted it done in the first place, so the money you wasted in the first place could have gone to something else that you really wanted. NEVER again for me. it gets done right the first time. Suggestion: sit down and make a plan, what do you REALLY want out of your rig, how long do you plan to keep it, what do you want to do with it. answer those questions on paper then check out the products needed to get it done ( not just 1 or 2 but as many products in each catagory as you can) read articles on the products ,get to know the good and bad points of each. you will end up riding with a smile when your done because if you are not satisfied with what you have done then what was the point?
in response to bigredbronco That is some of the best advice ever. By the way I have looked at your profile, and am extremely jealous. Your Bronco is my dream ride. I have been searching for the right mule to build pretty much exactly how you explained. I am really excited to hear how the clifford efi system works out. My dream is to own all the cars I had is a kid, and build them how I always wanted to before I had any means. The Bronco has mutated from its original form in my head though. the one I owned previously was a '79 w 460 c6 4.56 detroit locker 40" tires and a pretty cool urban camo paint job. Now I want an 80's Bronco with a 300-6 built with all the best from the ground up which I will also take to the grave. All I have to do now is find the right truck to start with. Sorry about the babling I know this has nothing to do with the thread.
