The Saga Continues

http://www.forbes.com/business/feeds...ap1903110.html

About the end of last year we all heard of this problem. As a Result of today’s action the automaker suffered a drop in stock prices. As many of you know I Am Not Exactly A Ford purest. That’s beside the point though. Our government in the name of public well being brings down our companies. I pick up Ford parts. Most of them come out of the USA believe it or not. I have taken some parts from Mexico. I wonder if this particular item came out of there. If so the company should reconsider outsourcing vendor contracts. I like Ford trucks. They are big and roomy. If there is any problem this should be addressed by the company ASAP. I have not experienced any problems though 36 vehicles have burned. Any of the big heads around here know what component in the steering column is causing these fires? How do you disconnect the cruise control? I am not selling my truck over this. To me its small potatoes. To others any way to reap at the expense of other they do not care.

I believe the cruise control switch is mounted on the master cylinder. Don't know the ramifacations when it is disabled.

How can you blame the government for Fords screwup? What should they do, ignore it and wait for Ford (or ANY manufacturer) to fix it quietly on their own?
