Will 285/75 16's fit on a 96 F250 4x4 CC PSD without rubbing using the stock Alcoa wheels? I have 265's and it looks like I have room to grow, but I dont want to listen to rubbing.... I am looking at Mastercraft Courser M/T's if anybody has used them, how are they and do they wear well?
Quick question... I have a 97 OBS f-250 w/ a 2" leveling kit (more like 1-1/2") Whats the bigest size i could fit under there w/o rubbing?? (TTB Front end) Thanks
ttb stands for Twin-Traction-Beam, the "Independant" front end that F-250 up to 97' came equipt with, it's not a solid front end like the 350's have. I thought that may make a difference in the hight of the front end so i put it in my post
Rowdyone: Do your tires rub the bumper or anything else?? thanks
Dude, my tires are right at one inch from the bumber when I make a turn. Close but they have never rubbed even when I hit bogs and things in turns, at least so far anyway LOL.
I am toying with the idea of trying 315's on this PSD since I have the 4.10's in her. I don't pull much that goes over 20K anymore as I use too, so the towing ability would give up I don't think will be to bad an issue.
Do know that if I do go with the 315's, I will have to space the front bumper out somewhat. Not a big deal anyway, since when I plan to do all this whether I do 315's or another set of 305's I am going to do a reverse shackle to the truck and mount this 12K winch I have to the front. So I will sub the front of the frame to support the pull of the winch and just move all this out a little farther to fit the bigger 315's if I go that size.
Now far as the 305's, they are about as close as I would want them to the bumper as things are now LOL. That is the only thing they get close too though. Springs and everything else are good, lots of guys change the wheels also when doing this and with a change of the off set on the wheel they get into trouble somewhat. Look forward to hear how you come out with this. Good luck with her...
Hey thanks Rowdyone.... I'm going to stop by the local tire shop and see how they look, i still have anothe 5K on the current rubber, so i'll let you know what i end up with, thanks again for the help!
