wanted to know what kinda gas mileage yall get with your diesels, looking to buy possibly wanted to have that as a factor, dont car if its highway or street stop and go jsut curious bout sum numbers - thanks matt
I did an experiment yesterday after I filled the tank and reset my overhead lie meter. I got over 25 mpg on the freeway with my egts at 600 degs, and I was going 70-75 mph. If that were only true it would be great! But I bet you it is at least 20mpg. Can't wait to take a long trip this summer to see what it really is.
I have averaged 18.2 or so over the last four years and 80,000+ miles on regular dino oil with an unmodified truck with the exception of an open element air filter.
I changed to synthetic oil last change and it looks like I will be a bit shy of 20 MPG, I have not filled up yet but will tomorrow.
I don't drive particularly hard but I do not baby things either. Generally I cruise the interstates 70-75 MPH to run with traffic. I have towed for probably 1500 or so miles and hauled over 1000 lbs in the bed for another 1500 miles in that time so my figure is mostly empty.
1995 F250 extended cab long bed with cab height cap, 5 speed PSD two wheel drive 3:55 gears running 255/85 x 16 lt tires.
I've been getting 15 - 16 mpg in the 3 months I've owned mine. It's probably 40% city and 60% highway or county road. I don't baby it, but don't hammer it, either. All with no load or pulling to speak of. Not as good as I'd hoped, but not bad, either.
2000, F-350, RC, LWB, 4x4, Auto, 3.73, Stock sized tires, Tymar intake, 4" exh.all the way back w/ MBRP muffler, chipped.
13 while plowing snow
15-16 city
18-21 highway depending on speed.
Winter fuel, manually figured arithmetic no mileage computer, about 700# in the bed for traction, not babying it and not beating it to hell either. Jodi Tipton chip programming.
I have a 2001 f250. I have averaged 14 and that was a mixture of highway and city driving. and that is using the math calculation at the pump. I use diesel kleen in each fill up. I also get about 460 miles to a full tank. I am suspecting that if they are all highway miles then i could get atleast 500 miles to a tank. but we will see.
