Rear Spring dimensions

Can someone tell me the length of the stock rear spring and the spring rate? I want a 2 inch drop in the rear of my van and since our springs cannot be cut I am gonna try and find another vehicle that uses a shorter spring. I just need the dimensions so I can know what to look for.

Have you thought about tossing some cynder blocks in the back. That will lower it real quick and easy.

Otherwise I have no ideas.

I rememeber seeing "Lowering kits" at Advance Auto Parts. A looong time ago I might add. They were these little clamps you put on the coil. They could either spread the spring apart (lifting it) or compress the spring (Lower it). I don't think you'd get 2" out of those.

I had two rear coils that were sagging really bad but they are long gone. They were down atleast an inch! Maybe you could find someone else that has saging springs and swipe theirs? Use that in conjunction with the clamps and you might be at 2"!

wouldn't recommend using clamps on springs. you will need to correct spring rate for the weight of the van. the lower it is, the higher the spring rate will need to be to prevent bottoming out. i've thought about lowering the van too... but i think in our situation, bagging it or air cylinders would be a better choice. you can slam it when she's parked, or jack her up high when going over snow drifts.

while we are on the topic of rear suspension. does any know if a stiffer shock for our rear suspension? i'm using monroe's sensatrac on my extended aero... i just hate the feel of the rear end taking longer to settle down after driving over a valley or bump. she does that even tho the shocks are new (both front and back).

Coilover Sensatrac stops the hopping around. But I also have custome coils that have improved spring rates.

I have the springs that just came off my Areo, I don't know the rating, but length is 18.5". Replaced mine with a vari rate spring. I lowered mine with wheels a tires.
