Talking Explorer Radiator Transplant

I just completed transplanting a '94 Explorer AT/AC Radiator into my 1987 Bronco II with 2.9L and 5 speed. I thought you guys (and gals) might like to know how easy this swap was after the good advice I read on this forum.

My old radiator had been rebuilt (new core) once before, but the plastic end tanks were showing stress cracks (tiny leaks) and the upper hose neck was cracked. Although, it helped, J-B Weld could not save the day this time.

I located a new '94 Explorer Radiator for an AT/AC vehicle so I would have increased cooling capacity (2 rows instead of one). Only $117.56 delivered from Radiator Barn. The new rad was a drop in fit with two exceptions: (1) Since I was going from a manual trans. radiator to one for an AT, I needed a new lower radiator hose for a '94 Explorer with AT; (2) The fan shroud clips did not match, and there were no extra slots. I solved this with HD zip ties (not the 500 for $5 kind). It will be a simple project to fabricate a more durable lower mount if necessary. Thanks, guys.
