Tire Size

I have an '89 model F-150 Lariat 4 x 4 (only 39,000 miles) and I'm getting ready to change tires. I want to go bigger, but would rather not lift the truck. Has anyone here run 33-12.50's on 10" rims? Any problems? I know 31-10.50's will work, but everyone has these.

Had the 33's on an 88 F-150 for a number of years. Worked fine... great on beach, but you loose turning radius(tires rub undercariage),have some road noise, and lose fuel economy (not terribly, but noticable) ...Ive got the 31's now and very happy

Mine has about a 3-4 inch lift and they clear good. A friend has the same truck and 32.11.50's with stock lift and it looks good. Fills up the wheelwell. By the way, mine are sidewinder mud tires on outlaw 2 10 inch rims.

It's ok to have different tire sizes on a 2WD, but not on a 4x4. The front and back both need to have the same on a 4x4. You can always put a 1-2" lift on your rig. It involves longer coil springs in the front, new shocks (not necessary though) and new camber bushings. Then you should be able to fit those 33's under there.
