Headers for 460
good question, i dont have an answer for you but have an 83 f250 with a big block and am also curious about header options. anyone out there have some ideas? also if anyone has installed headers and/or duals on this type of vehicle...what kind of gains did you see?

Headers for 460
We just did a short box 85 302-460 convert and we found multiple choices, Headman and Doug thorly are the two that come to mind now the bod has the same lines as a 3/4 ton. the DT's were what was used with great success.

I put a 514 in my '83 f100 and used the Hedmans. I got them from summit, they cost me around $90 for the set. The only problem I had is that you must use an early starter (one without the soleniod on it) or one of the tubes will hit the starter. Also, the rearmost tube on the passenger side is removable, so the header will slip right into place, then install the tube after you slip the front part in. It helps if you get a gear-drive mini starter ($169, cvr brand from summit). It's got a clockable mounting plate, which in my case I had to turn the starter upside-down to make it work the best. It's MUCH easier to start the big engine with the lower amp draw too.
