transits

what is the best, most reliable top of the line transit?? both optical and self leveling?

NOT Harbor Freight!! Most likely Bosh & Lomb, There are MANY good ones out there, You just have to check them from time to time, an easy way is to set up, make a mark on a pole, swing 180 degrees mark a second pole . reset past the second mark and check the reading across the 2 marks, they should be level if not the unit is shooting up or down from level. Greg

I like the old scope method I have an old one it works real well. I don't like the robo lasers for what I do..
