rebooting ecm

Did some work on the X and was able to get more air for the intake, But the motor is boging now when you stomp on the gas. Is there a way to reboot the ecm so it can fix the problem it self?

Don't know that it'll fix your problem, but you can reboot by disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes. If your air increase involves bypassing the mass air flow, that will be a problem.

nope I did not bypass the mass air flow just increased the air flow through the air box with out cutting or drilling.

On the front of the air box behind the head light there is a tube, It pops out. The opening that is left is pretty close to the same size as the air tube that go's to the intake. Need to take out the air box to get it out.

Make sure you got all the sensors plugged back in. There are a few on the intake plenum that could cause the bogging feeling. If any of them are not plugged in, or the mass air sensor has gotten dirty, that could cause it.

You don't have to disconnect the battery to reset the pcm. You can take and unbolt the pcm from the harness (10mm bolt I think) and leave it out for about 10 minutes. Same result - but you do not loose radio presets, etc...

Is there a trick to removing the air box? I tried pulling it out without any luck how? Is there any bolts holding it or do you just pop it out? Thanks for the help

I think, I'm going to have to do some work on the kick down to make it work better. Still have some boging. But the V6 has some throat now. I'll play more with it up in boone, NC. LOL

I did not have any bolts on mine. 4 rubber gromits hold it in. Undo the air intake line and lift up on the air box at the air outlet it should pop up, that will be two there and then two on the wheel well. Now that on a 2000 X.
