I was able to pick up a good Holley carb for a great price, however, the tag is missing. I am not sure what it is. I think that it may be a 4160 600 CFM. If someone here can help me with it, that would be great. I found two sets of numbers on the choke horn.
LIST-7986 2903
Also, it has an electric choke with two electrical connectors.......Where the heck do these go! I have a 76 F250 4X4. My truck has a manual choke on it now, could there be a set of wires or a plug somewhere in the wiring harness so that all I have to do is hook it up? Probably not that easy is it.
One choke wire is a ground, the other can be tapped into the alternator stator wire if the factory choke wire is not there.
It is a 600cfm 4160 series carb. It came with a .031 squirter nozzle, a black spring in the secondaries, It came with 65 jets in the front and a 134-39 metering plate in the rear. Here is Hollies description of the carb :
0-7986 (4160)
1975-76 351W C.I.D. engs. (Trucks & R.V.'s) Vacuum secondaries,
auto choke, 2 stage power valve, 600 c.f.m., emission carb.
Ford kickdown lever.
Thanks very much for the quick reply. Can I pick your brain one more time? I was planning on putting this carb on a 428 that i am building (r/v cam of some sort, haven't got that far yet and a stock 4V manifold) and I see that it was on a 351 W. Do you think it is ok to put on the 428? Not planning on racing the truck or anything, mostly just a daily driver, hunting, fishing and at times pulling a 20' camper. It has got to be better than the tired 360 2V that I have now or should I look for a bigger CFM carb?
