The plastic mounts for the hood release pull handle, inside my truck, broke and I had to rig it by screwing it in with some washers. It works, but it is not smooth, I have to push it back closed as it does not spring back anymore because of the pressure of the screws that hold it on now.
I have located a couple of Broncos with functional release levers and cables, but I am not sure of the procedure to replace it. Can the cable be removed from the inside lever, and if so, how? It seems like one piece. If not, can I assume that I need to take the whole handle and cable? In that case, where does it disconnect from at the underhood latch? It goes down behind it and I could not see.
