Well it's that time of the year for track meets and my wife and I will be spending some quality time sitting in bleachers watching our kids run during down pours. We'd like to get some good quality rain wear but we're not sure what to look for or where to get it. Any suggestions?
i have used "Frog Toggs" while fishing and doing things around the camp site in the rain. they will keep you 100% dry, are light weight and dont cost that much. i would not reccomend them for heavy duty use (hunting, back country backpacking etc.) but they would be great for sitting in the bleachers
I work in the Landscape industry down here in Franklin county and spend a great deal of time outside. I have tried several brands of rainsuits over the years. I currently have a 2 piece rainsuit made by Columbia and it's the best I've ever owned. Keeps me absolutely dry and has lasted through 3 years of abuse "out in the field". I got it at The Anderson's. You have those over there? How about Gander Mountain? If not, a hunting/camping/fishing store maybe? Hope this helps.....
I recommend Military Issued Gore-tex parka's and pants.....sizing charts as well as good deals can be found on E-bay.....excellent rainwear/coldweather gear...will keep you dry and cuts the wind
Helly Hanson is the best. Everybody on the rigs wears them unless you're cheap and buy vinyl, then you end up paying more because the vinyl only lasts about 4 hours on a rig. My last Helly suit lasted about 5 months... on a drilling rig, roughnecking, so it got worn pretty much every day I worked.
