77 302 cam question

just wondering what a pretty good aftermarket cam is for my 77 302? im looking for a pretty good increace in low and mid power. ive looked at summit but dont really know how the cam numbers work that well.

You need one with less than about a 280 degree ( advertised ) duration and no more than about a .500 lift. Or an "RV " type grind. Also you'd want a wide lobe separation angle to minimize the overlap. ( the period of time, the intake and exhaust valves are open at the same time)
