Eastwood catalog has a few options for painting the master cylinder. Spray Gray for cast iron parts, Brake Drum/ Caliper Coatings in gray or glossy colors good up to 900 degrees F.
thanks for the info.what is the cost of powder coating?I would like to powder coat alot of stuff if it's not to high.can you do it yourself?I've done bodywork and can paint a auto.If it's to much I'll try Glyptal. THANKS ART
There are some do it yourself kits out there but U need a oven that you will never use for anything else but powder coating... And they do wrk great.. I have used then myself and love doing all the small stuff..
I actually used a aerosol bed liner spray that I purchase from Wal-Mart. If any has ever bled manual brakes, I covered the master cylinder in brake fluid about 15 times. It is still holding up.
Harbor Freight has the best price on powdercoating kit, < 50.00. Oven needs to be electric, not gas and capable of reaching and holding @ 400*F.
If you plan to powdercoat the MC you will need to disassemble it completely, the rubber seals will not take the heat, and plug or cover any/all machined surfaces. You will NOT be able to powdercoat the booster tho since you can't take it apart to remove the diaphram(s). I'm using a polished stainless booster and aluminum MC so I don't have to worry.
