fuel pressure regulator
Hi all, this is my first time posting, I have certainly benefited from viewing others comments to solve my B-2 problems. I just replaced the fuel pressure regulator on my 88 B-2, 2.9L. I thought that might be the cause of my broncos loss of power up hill and just in general. Now the thing won't stop leaking around the o-ring. I have tightened the bolts as much as possible. Some history; I have replaced the fuel pumps(in tank and in line), the fuel filter and many other parts. Any suggestions.

Pull the regulator off again, and carefully take some fine steel wool and clean the fuel rail where it goes in, then use some grease on the o-ring when you put it in. Make sure it is seated all the way in the hole and seats even when you tighten it in.

Thank you for your help. I used steel wool around the hole in the fuel rail. Also the new o-ring was torn, so I put downward pressure on the regulator while tightening the bolts to ensure the regulator seated straught into the rail. I may have screwed one side too much hencce tearing the o-ring. All is well, I am conserving gas again.
