Does anyone have any suggestions for the placement of 1986 (country squire) 302 ford motor mounts in the Volare suspension mated to a 1955 Ford p/u? The suspension came out of a 1985 New Yorker with 318 motor mounts. I would like to see if there are after market mounts that are prefabbed and atcually worked or will I be able to use the OEM mounts that are in the wagon. I would appreciate any help. I imagine that someone here has tried this a time or two.
Thanks for any help.
Pre-fab does not exist. You have to buy the "Volare Puzzle Mount Kit" or fab them from scratch. The kit does work well, but you'll feel ripped off when it arrives. It looks a lot like five bucks worth of metal for ten times the price.

Amen to that. Never did figure out the "Puzzle mount kit" for my truck so I only used the right side mount and trashed the left. I ended up making my own mount for the left side, but it won't help you because my engine is non-Ford. Save your money and don't buy the No-Limit Puzzle kit.
I'll second(or is it third) that! I still have my "No Limit" puzzle in a box. I gave up and fabbed my own for a 351 W. I think I did all right for a beginner. It's not rocket science so give it a shot. Good Luck!!!! Later Steve
don't know how much help it will be... but look at my volare article and you can see what we did for MM this was for a 460...so a small block will be no trouble... the hard side is the steering box side...but since a SBF is narrower you might not have to fab right up against the steering box..
It won't do you any good to smack the stupid out of people when there appear to a large number of gnomes going around whacking them with stupid sticks. The guy across the street who used his snow blower to literally blow all the snow off his FRONT LAWN into the street comes to mind. Never did figure that one out and was afraid to ask. Might have a gnome with a stupid stick hiding in his garage.
You guys never solved the puzzle? C'mon, it only has four pieces. You just needed to make it orange in a couple spots. Then it goes right together.
D ??? what do you need puzzles for... the only think I know about '"universal" adapters or kits or anything ??? is that it don't fit EVERYTHING universally.
How can anything fit every engine made ??? that statement worries me...
LC... first get your engine/trans in place... tie/wire/tack/brace it there real tight.... then you just get you some cardboard and scissors (the ones with the round end) and start playing... before long you'll have your motor mounts in cardboard...then trace on 3/16 plate and cut outside the lines (the opposite of the coloring rule) and then there you go... engine mounts !!! even De-wayne could do it If Bubba hepped em
Thanks for the help guys. I firqured if I can get the volare in on my own than I can put a motor in crooked. John cool website by the way I have avoided many mistakes because of your detailed trials and errors. Thanks from North Alabama.
