ball joints

Are ball joints a common problem? 1999 F350 Dually crew cab 7.3 with 71,000.
just had new tires put on & was told it needs upper & lower ball joints & was told it was common on fords?

yes this is common for the year and the mileage on your superduty. i have seen some go at 30000 or 40000 but those were DNR trucks.
