I am replacing my exhaust with a single inlet/outlet 3 inch exhaust. I am going with a 3 inch spintech high flow cat and muffler. My Q is about the front cat..are there high flow units that are direct replacements?
I am also just considering gutting the front cat and just being done with it.
BTW it will pass emissions with just one high flow unit. So the issue is about sound and cost/likelihood of replacing the front unit. How will it sound gutted? Does it harm anything to gut it? I don't thinkg that there are eny sensors past the first cat. What options are out there other than fabbing up a whole 3 inch dual cat system?
It won't harm anything to gut it. It will sound the way cars sounded before they started installing catalytic convertors, simple as that. Not only that but most vehicles with cats, are burned clean anyway after about 10 years, it will sound like that gutted out (fine), and won't hurt anything concerning any sensor or anything.
