I have a 2000 5.4 with 84k. I have three spark plugs left to do, did the others in hour and 15 - not bad considering there a PITA to get to. After I get those done I'm going have to some time to do a few others things, But the question is what? I'm going to clean the tb, iac maybe the egr valve - I've had problems with busted bolts in the past on them- Anything else I should do? I'm guessing throttle body cleaner will be work for all of them. Thanks in advance. Eric
Check your vaccuum lines also, I didn't think mine were bad but when my mechanic changed my plugs he also switched out a few bad lines and now my engine is so much quieter, I never realized how loud it had become and just assumed it was my dual exhaust.
Fuel filter is only about a year old, pcv valve will be replaced once I get to the dealer, you ought to hear the one I have on it now. As far as vacuum lines I checked all of the ones I worked around, all my underhood noise is from the AF1 and PS pump. It doesn't run any different as far as I can tell yet, though doesn't ping as much. If those was the originals I pulled out they could of easily went another 100k, so i'm guessing they been changed some time, although changing from the 3 thread to 6+ thread plug makes me feel a little better. Eric
I would do wires too....Taylor makes a great wire, have had great luck withthem in the past.
Erik
This is a COP's ignition system, there are no wires.

I thought it was the threads in the heads that were the concern?
