The place i work has an 89 f-350, 7.3l 4X4, with a zf 5spd, it is having issues with starting, it dosent want to crank, and if you fuss with the clutch pedal it will eventually start, (by fuss i mean in and out and such) but when i looked under the dash i dont see a safety switch, any ideas???? is it in the transission or something?
The switch should be on the rod for the clutch master cylinder at the right end of the shaft for the clutch and brake pedals. You should check to see if the plastic bushing is gone out of the eye for the master cylinder shaft where it connects to the lever for the clutch pedal shaft. If you have to push too hard, it's usually that or there is a crack in the firewall where the shaft is for the clutch master cylinder where it's mounted and the firewall and is flexing when you push down the clutch pedal.
