Question 88 F-150 electrical questions

I'm new so I hope I am posting this correctly.
Problem one. The window control switch on both doors works backwards for the passinger side window. I had to replace both window motors during the year and a half I have owned the truck. The switch worked incorectly before the motor failure and after the replacement. During the replacement I noticed the connectors are molded and only attach to the door switch one way.
This may be related to the second problem. The pervious owner replaced the raido with a Pioneer CD player. Whenever the radio is on and the lights are turned on the radio turns off for about five seconds and then turns on again. With the radio on when the engine is turned off I hear 5 beeps. I have checked the wiring and regrounded the radio to chassis ground. This did not change anything. Finally the cruise does not work. Other than that the truck is great. Any ideas ?
Thanks

The power window motors work by reversing polarity. There are two motor leads, for up the switches supply +/- to the motor, for down it is -/+. Somewhere, either in the feed to the switch or the feed to the motor the two wires got flopped around. Try to find where this happened. Since the failed motor and the new motor do the same thing the problem is not the motor or its wiring.

If the wiring flop is not obvious or if you don't want to spend a lot of time to deal with it, flop the two wires in the door harness that lead to the motor plug.

the problem with the radio turning off when the lights are turned on sounds like a ground problem. If I had to guess, I would say that the person who installed the radio connected the radio ground to the illumination wire instead of a ground wire. To fix that, you are going to need the service manual for the truck or something that tells you what the correct wire colors are supposed to be.

The five beeps from the radio when you turn off the truck is normal. That is a feature built into Pioneer radios with Detacheable faces. Basically, it is the radio "reminding you" To take it with you.

As far as the window problem, I have to agree with midlf. I just installed the Factory Power windows (including all of the wiring) on my "Non-powered" 88 F-150, so I am very familiar with the power window wiring. The ONLY way I could see the buttons being reversed is to reverse the two wires that go to the motors.
