I purchased a t5 wc that I plan to mount to a 5.0. I dont have the 5.0 yet and I would like to buy an EFI engine. Most of the 5.0 engines I find in junkyards have the aod, aode attached to them as they are in trucks. If I pull the 5.0 out I plan to get the aod/aode with the computer and wireing harness. Will the 5.0 computer and harness made for the automatic work with the t5; is it as simple as that? Or do I need to buy another computer or have it reprogrammed? Thanks.
The computers are different, I don't know how or why... I don't know if the engine will run without some kind of input from a tranny computer... its difficult to say.
I'd appreciate it if you would let us know what you find out. Thanks, M
The '87-'93 Mustang aod computor will work with a T-5, but I'm not sure about the aode computors from other vehicles.
What did your T-5 come out of? The term World Class gets used incorrectly all the time. After '86(?) all T-5s were World Class, it's when they started using Timkin bearings and other upgraded parts. Even 4 cyl T-5s were World Class although they are weaker than the V8 T-5s. Here's an easy way to tell:
