Do I have to go to a Ford dealer to get the 6 new nuts and bolts for bolting the bed back on any web sites I can get them. Also does the bed sit on a rubber mount or directly on to the frame. I could not find any rubber mounts on my frame when I removed the bed unless they our stuck to the bed I have not looked underneath yet.
I'm not familiar with your problem, and don't know your income level, but I'll offer this suggestion and you can take it or leave it. The best body bushings I've ever used were made from tire sidewalls. They are free, last forever, can be stacked to desired thickness and will prevent squeaks and groans.
If you wanted original style bolts-probably yes. But when I bolted my bed back on I got some carriage bolts from lowes. The original bolts on my 1980 had a large head and shank, with a small thread. I got carriage bolts to match the length and thread of the original bolt, and used large washers under the head of the carriage bolt on top. I ground the heads of the carriage bolts on two sides so I could get a wrench on them to keep them from turning, because they are smaller on top than the factory bolts and would not fit the square hole in the bed.
I just bolted my bed back on. I used 1/2" galvanized carriage bolts with a 5/8" washer on top of the bed. Be sure to use a washer AND a lock washer on the bottom or you'll be tightening them every other week. Mine is an 85 and it has no rubber bushings. Once the bolts are tight it's not gonna move.
