I'm trying to install a new resistor for ECU, I really need to know, what are the two output wire colors for the IAT sensor on a 2001 mazda/ranger 3.0 v6. I can't get any info anywhere. I do know there is a gray/red, red, grey, light brown/red, tan/light brown and black- these are all part of the combined air intake temp. / mass air sensors, but I need to know JUST the two output/return wire colors from the IAT.
Please don't guess, if you don't know and want to make a suggestion- say that it's a guess- I've had enough wrong answers from dealers and garages, thats why I'm here.
The Gray and the gray/red wire are used by the ACT (air charge temperature sensor) I don't see anything about an IAT. I have also heard that the resistor trick is bogus, the O2 sensor will overide the fuel mixture error after a drive cycle.

thanks, I'll give that a shot- I've also heard both that it works and it doesn't, so I thought I'd give it a shot. They claim you can also put it on the water temp sensor inline.
I looked at it further, and I'm really wondering weather thats correct, and that the gray/red, or the gray is not right.
The Juice Box is what I am Installing.
Does anyone know if the green/red, or the grey/red wire on the water temp sensor represent the solid color or ground wire.
The lack of info these companies give is enough to give one a migrane.
The gray/red wire is a SIGNAL RETURN for many of the sensors and engine controls. It goes to the PCM pin 91 wich turns out to be a ground via the PCM. I don't know if it get cycled or anything by the PCM so I would not just ground it. Yes the green/red wire is from the PCM and is the "protected power" from the pcm to the Temp sensor.
Just let me say that ford sent millions of dollars and a lot of very smart people work all day long for years to get the cleanest/power/fuel mileage, from you engine.
I understand your point, but I also know optimun power is not there ultimate intentions. This is my second truck, work truck really, I'm trying to squeeze out a small amount of guts to get this thing moving a bit quicker cheaply. I'm hopeing with my fresh air filter and this, I can notice a bit of improvement.
