nv4500 transmissions

does anyone know of adapters to put an nv4500 behind an fe engine?

you could check with advance adapters...they might have something for that application. i'm pretty sure they have a ford adapter for the NV4500 but don't know about the FE specifically.

Yes, Advance Adapters has them. If I remember correctly, they are about $250. They adapt your stock belhousing to the NV4500 trans. I've looked into this for my '73 F100 390. There are several that have done this swap and like it. The only thing holding me up is the price. A used tranny is about $800 plus the adapter and new clutch, it'll be pushing $1500 when complete. Search the 67-72 forum and the 73-79 for nv4500 swap, you will find lots of good info.
