so i picked up my dana 44 out of an 89 bronco this weekend for my 4x4 swap. i got it all apart, waiting for the funds to buy the hub, rotor warn hubs, ball joins and u joints. is there anything else i should be replacing here? also will the steering linkage from a 96 F150 bolt up to this axle? one last question is that are the 2wd and 4wd radius arms different? if they are does anyone have a set of radius arms theyd be willing to let go?
I looked at a picture of the 2wd radius arms and they look like what used to be on my truck. So I would assume they are the same. Sorry but I hauled mine off to the dump a few weeks ago.
I would strongly suggest that you replace the axle pivot bushings with the poly superlift or comparable ones.
yea i was planning on doing that. i found a D44 rebuild kit on bronco graveyard which I think will have everything I need, just wondering about the radius arms as I don't have the funds to buy a lift kit with extended ones up front. btw hows your 302 w/ 3.55's and 35's?

I don't think the d44 axle kit will come with these. I personally believe that these are the major cause for front end wander and not being able to hold an alignment.http://www.suspensionconnection.com/...KF03018F5.html
My truck is pretty slow and eats a lot of gas. I will be changing gears soon to 4.11 so my gas mileage and take off power will increase.
I Just wanted to make a comment about the Gears, cause I currently have a 90 Bronco with a dana 44 up front. I would highly recomend at least 4.10 gears. and if you plan on going with 35" tires I would then go with 4.56 gears.
I have had 4.10 gears and 33" tires on my rig for several years both with NO lift and then with 4" lift. I just recently installed 4.56 gears and an ARB in the rear, and I'm about ready to do the same for the front.
