I have a 2000 F150 with a 5.4 Tri. I just put Magnaflow 70 series on and it sounds great. I also took off all cat conv and now I have my Check Engine soon light on. The 4 02 sensors are still connected. Can I fix this or just ignor it and if I can fix it, how do I do it?

I forgot to mention that the CEL was tested today and the report quots "TESTED EEC SYSTEM, CODES FOR EXHAUST CONVERTORS, NONE ON TRUCK M, NO REPAIR MADE." Now what. Thanks for the first responce.
You can either a) ignore the CEL soon light (but you might run into a problem when something does really happen to your engine and your Check Engine Soon light is supposed to come on but it doesn't because it is already on because of the cats being off)
or
b) get MIL eliminators as said, they tell your computer you still have cats. If you can't find them on the net just re-post and tell me if you need help, I'll find you some.
Ignoring the CEL can be a bad decision. The O2 sensors are responsible for telling the ECU what mixture to feed the engine. Too lean, and you will have pinging and knocking problems, both very bad for the bottom end of your engine. Too rich and you are just wasting fuel, which could mean a lot of money these days.
The rear 02 sensors do not change the fuel mixture, they just tell the computer if the cats are on and working. When a shop does an emissions test without sniffing the exhaust, they connect to the computer and check to see if the rear sensors are reading properly. These sensors are designed to read a leaner condition as compared to the front two sensors, because they expect the cats to burn some excess gas emissions. The front two sensors are the only ones that read the mixture and tell the computer to change the fuel delivery mixture, you will not notice any difference, except for the service engine light on, while the rear sensors are disconnected. Get the MIL eliminators and everything will work fine.
Thanks for all the replys. I ordered the MIL Elm las week and installed them today and so far everything is working great. The CEL went off. Thanks again for all the replys. This a great Web Site.
I want a little bit better throttle response, but I don't want an aftermarket sound. If I remove the cats, install MIL eliminators, and keep the stock muffler will that release some of the backpressure in the exhaust pipes?
Oh, and I want to add some headers and maybe an H-pipe. How will that affect the sound if at all?
By installing headers and removing you cats you will increase hp and throttle response and remove your backpressure. It will change your sound, but how much I do not know.
I found the MIL eliminators on line @ Pony Express Performance. You will have to set up an PayPal account in order to pay for them. I got the part in a couple of days and it only took me about 15 min. to install both of them. Make sure you disconnect the battery before you install them this will reset your computer and turn off you CEL.
