Does the drama never end??? (rant!)

So I found out a couple of weeks ago that my school-area roommate (who my sister is currently living with) was stealing from me. I confronted her twice... once to ask if she'd seen the things I'd noticed were missing, then again when I noticed the empty containers/full containers/evidence in the trash. Both times were email, the second time saying simply that I was offended she felt I was dumb enough to believe that I had simply lost so many things in such a short time period and that I wanted her to vacate the apartment at the end of the month... and that the office should have the paperwork ready for her to sign. She signed off and I figured I wouldn't have any more problems... well, fast forward a week... she was out of the country for work and today was the first day she came back. She showed up with a friend while my sister was out. She came back to find the roommate's car stuffed with her stuff... cool, she's moving out early. Great. I'm excited. Well, upon leaving, my wonderful soon-to-be-ex roommate turned the heat to the coldest setting (which would turn the AC on and break it as it is all of 25 degrees out), left the door open, and stole a couple of ornaments I had hanging on some candle holders in the dining room. My sister noticed this because she is much more eagle-eyed than I am and called me. This is enough!! I thought it would be over with after the confrontation. She's caught, I simply said I wanted her out and no more trouble!! I'm so sick of worrying about my stuff! So I had Holly (my sister) call the police and she's filling out a police report. I don't want to go to court, I don't want to have trouble, but I also don't want to lose all this stuff that I PAID FOR because my immature clepto roommate wants to show how cool she is! What the heck do I do about this???

Geez I hate a thief! But I think that if I were you,I would add up the dollar amount of the things that she has stolen. If it adds up to,say less than a hundred dollars.I would just chaulk it up to a lesson learned. It would not be worth the time or effort to go after her for it.But if it came up to a decent sum off money, say $400 or more, then I would take her to small claims court.Plus having your sister there as a witness would probably get the judge to rule in your favor. And then if she doesnt pay up,you go back to the court and they force her to pay up.But like I said, this is a pain and is time consuming so it would not be worth it for a small amount of money. But one thing I would make sure I did would be to let everyone I knew that knows her, that she is a thief!Geez I hate a thief!oops I said that already.

there was a time in a galaxy far, far away when we didn't lock cars, didn't lock houses even !!!

I'm not convinced air condtioning was for comfort.... until we had to close and lock all the windows and doors... then it became on issue !

Like King says... consider it a paid bill for lesson learned if less than the $90 for smal claims... and move on... it'll just gnaw on you if u don't let it go...

I just want her to stop taking my stuff! I've already written off all the stuff she took thus far as gone forever... I know I won't get it back and I'm okay with that. I just thought we could be civil and was trying very hard to be. I have fought myself off for a few weeks with all the dirt I have on her... I was considering telling her boyfriend about the guy she was cheating on him with over the summer, and why I'm kicking her out, but I thought I should just let it go because it doesn't matter, I don't care what happens to her as long as it doesn't affect my life, but this is so stupid!!! I'm *almost* stooping! I'm so close!! I have her boyfriend's address... I could send the cheat-ee over there tomorrow to introduce himself! Once, she was with her bf Mike in the mall and saw this guy there... ignored him and told her boyfriend something like he's a creepy dude who has an Asian fetish, then told John (cheat-ee) that Mike was her host-family boyfriend!!! How pathetic! Oh, and in addition, this guy's friend came over and drank my beer... the next day, some of her Tiffany jewelry was missing. She'd better not try filing a police report against ME for that!!! I just remembered that, how crappy would that be! I'm betting John, after realizing he was being duped, took it, since it coincided with him being over to our apartment... this is just getting more and more messed up... the police were just over to my house (my sister called them you know, to report her taking stuff from us) and she gave them her number so they could call her. I really, really hope this doesn't take on some superhuman powers and screw more stuff up!
