Hi , I am looking for a part for my 1987 Ford Ranger. What I am in need of is a yoke flange to connect the rear drive shaft to the transfer case, I have a standard transmission with a electronically controlled 4 wheel drive.
The mechanic at my local garage says Ford dosen't carry this part anymore. So far neither does any of the local wrecking yards.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I might find such a part ? Mine blew-up the other night and I'm stranded...
There is also a junkyard inventory site that you can search on. They are not an FTE sponsor tho - Ken is it OK to post the web site? ( not sure on FTE rules).
I go to www.car-part.com frequently and found it very helpful. Keep in mind that the salvage yard inventories aren't up to the minute, but it gives you an idea of how much they get for the parts and who "might" have the parts. Also gives phone numbers, e-mails, etc.
I searched on yoke flange and they don't break it down that far, but looking at xfer cases, there are listings way cheap... maybe they will seperate or have a junk one with a good yolk flange. Worth a shot.
