I have a 86 F150 4x4,4.9L, 4 speed. My idiot light that is on the far left is missing the lens. This light has started staying on so I guess I should find out what it is for. Can anybody give me a hand?
Hmm, never seen an I-6 truck with that light hooked up, on my 84 parts truck(300 w/TFI-IV) it had a shift light blank there, and the only 85 and 86 I've worked on have had non-emissions 300's with Duraspark II and NP435's, and they were the same.

It's supposed to come on approximately every 60000 miles. There should be a box somewhere under the dash used to reset the light (never did find it on mine). Here's the link to the thread on how to reset it:
My 84 must have been an oddball then, it had a feedback carb, but no 02 sensor or emissions light... What is it with me and oddballs......

I never did find the reset button on mine. When the light came on 220K miles ago, I pulled the light bulb out behind the panel. Hasn't bothered me since
