I have a 2000 Ford F150, 5.4, that has died. The truck was already running rough (poor gas mileage and jecking. I washed to truck no problem; however, when I attempted to move it, I heard a clicking sound coming from the fuse panel (#2 relay) and I have little to no power in the cab. No lights, horn, windows, nothing! Not sure which route to take. Are there any suggestions?
Hows the battery. How old is it. Did you have any trouble starting before this problem.? How are the connections to the starter.? Could be bad? Just some thoughts. Rule out the batter before you check anything else.
I'm a Ford Man through and through! But I have to call it as I see it. Although the battery came with the truck, I've eliminated the battery! So my problem must be elsewhere.
this seems to be an epidemic. i dont think am going to wash mt truck anymore . sounds like some ignition components got wet. i too, am curuius as to how you eliminated the battery.
did you test it or have some one elese test it and do a load test on it? you can put a meter on it and have 12 plus volts all day long put if you got no amps your truck is not going to do notin. just my 2 cents worth
There is an issue with some of our F150's that have a leak in the lower part of the windshield that dumps the water right on the back of the fuse panel. Do a search for windshield leak and I am sure you will get all the details. Could be that you had the leak before, just not bad enough til the last time you washed it.
