What connects to air cleaner here? 460cid

I have these two connections on the passenger side of the air cleaner on an 85' 460 in a f-350. Right now there is a hose connecting them for no real reason, any idea what SHOULD be there?

I bought the truck with the smog stripped off and now I am moving to New York where they check this stuff. Putting it all back is a nightmare when you don't know what was there originally.

P.S. If anyone has a 460 with the original smog equipment, a few pictures would make thing TONS easier! Thanks in advance!

Can't seem to post pics so please check my gallery, I will put them there.

Well since no one else has replied......I dont have smog era 460, but I can give you some ideas.

Vent tube from oil fill cap?
a tube off of the EGR system to recirculate back into the ingine?

That is what it looks like but there is already an oil vent going to the driver side. It must be part of the EGR/Emission system. I am going to make a trek to one of the big junkyards to see if there are any around that are still complete and get everything. But that won't be for another 2 weeks or so.

Thanks

I have an 85 f-250 with the 460. Smog stuff still intact. Non-Catylist.
Looked at the air cleaner.
Two hoses, one appears to be a bypass going down to the intake by the egr plate.
The other one goes to a valve solenoid coming out of the smog pumps.
I don't know if that helps much. I don't really speak emissions so, I leave it alone.

Awesome guys!!! So those hoses are for the air coming from the AIR bypass valves when it isn't going through the exhaust. Makes tons of sense now, thanks Artbo!

I am going to check your galleries now!

And yes, I have been out staring at the sticker for hours! I think I have kind of figured out what should be there, but I don't know where it all was suppose to mount. Seeing a stock setup would be great!

They are not kidding when they say a picture is worth a thousand words!

But darn, TWO SMOG PUMPS! I thought there was just one.

Only part I can't tell now is what is on the passenger side fender well. If it wouldn't be to much trouble.......could you snap a shot of the purge control valves and stuff.

You guys are life savers!

Well, looks like I have it narrowed down to this list:

Theractor Idle Vacuum Valve (IVV)
2 Bypass valves (BPV)
2 AIR pumps
2 AIR exhaust manifolds
All the Purge control valves and stuff from the passenger side wheel well

I guess it could be worse, now I just have to start scrounging the junkyards!

If you need some more pics, PM me your e-mail address, and I will send them too you. It's quicker that way, and right now it wont let me upload anymore on to the site.. Just let me know what you want and at what angle.

Yeah, what Sycostang67 said.
I'm not so great at managing with this site.
Between the two of us we can probably get you there.
