Steering Problems
I replaced the steering coupling on my 75 F100. After putting everything back together, I have hard steering and a MAJOR drag at two points in the steering wheel rotation. Also. is the steering shaft supposed to have some slide to it?

The top half of the u-joint flexes fine, but has a slight tightness to the bottom half of the joint. It only has a u-joint on the top of the shaft.

spray some lube on that ujoint, my 4x4 had the steering bind up and thats all it was, i just poured oil on mine, but i truck is pretty rough so im not worried about a little oil spillage, anyways it loosened my steering right up after a couple turns left and right..........

mine was froze up also. i had to take it out and heat the outer part with a torch while holding it in a vice. then i wire brushed the whole thing and lubed it up and put it back in the truck. so far so good. hope this helps out. Eddie II
