Anyone have this problem? I'm in my driveway with a transmission on the engine hoist cleaning an scrubbing to get it ready for paint and every neighbor that passes by has to rubberneck at 5 mph to see what's going on.
I swear, the next house I buy/build will have a garage in the back so I don't have to worry about the Jones' being nosey!!!

I know what you mean. I once had a busybody neighbor that had to comment on everything I did out in front of the house. It was pretty annoying. I guess some folks just don't have interesting enough lives of their own.

Thanks, it is an Edelbrock performer. I chose it for the broad power range and ease of upgrading with matched components. I also installed an Edelbrock carb to go along with it.
The original EGR and 2 bbl setup wasn't going to cut it.

First thing... Dont PANIC!! ..There probally just old C#$%Y drivers looking for someone that is doing something right.
Next get your shot gun and the bigest black dog you can find and clean the gun on the front porch while the paint dries on the engine!
Yeah, I have the same problem with the neighbours on both sides of my house. The one guy complains all the time to me.....but when he has a question about his or his wife's car he sure does come running over...!
Hmmm...Luckily, I don't have that problem. I of course respect my neighbors enough not to make a ruckus before dawn or after dusk, and they don't complain when I'm workin' on my vehicles. I have had just the opposite reaction to passerbyers. They are actually curious as to what kind of vehicles I'm working on. I've even had complete strangers pull up just to chit chat about classic trucks that they are working on and even offered advice or help. Now those are the kind of rubberneckers that I like!
No happily i don't have that problem but i guess that is the good thing about living in the country and knowing your neighbors since before pre-school. We have probally 15 cars in my yard and no one says anything except the old guy that thinks his sh!# don't stink.

My personal favorites are the ones who feel like they have to show off in front of your house. I had an old 1972 Chevy 4x4 that needed work occasionally. It never failed that the same old beater truck would drive by (also a 1972 Chevy). It was three different colors and lowered. He always had to rev it up to show off his exhaust leak (makes it faster, you know!). One time he stopped in front of the house to attempt a power-brake and ended up killing the engine. I gestured that I thought he was good ole' Number One, and he finally left me alone, mostly. And I don't mind people stopping by to talk as long as they realize that I'm working, and my conversation might suffer as a result.
It doesn't bother me when they stop by and ask question or just to see what I'm doing. It just irritatesme at all the gawking when they drive by. Most of them fly by at 50 MPH since our road is as wide as a freeway, but when I'm working in the garage, they just HAVE to slow to 5MPH, crane their necks like E.T., and get all buggeyed to get a peek at what's going on.
Oh well, guess it gives 'em sumthin' to talk about a parties.

YES I have the same problem. I live in military housing in Germany. So everyweek when I wash my truck there are the neighbor ladies sittin' outside watching me wash. I finally caught on and began leaving my shirt on. Their husbands always tell me about this truck they are building(its always in the states still), then they proceed to ask me how to fix their cars. I always wonder who is actually building their trucks, it isn't them , not with the questions they ask.
A few years ago, I was having vinyl siding put on the house, & the guy that was doing it told me that my neighbor immeidately to the west had been watching him through binoculars. Now, the guy did look a little like an outlaw, but after he had been there a day or two, with us leaving & returning, the neighbor surely couldn't have been thinking he was up to no good. Just nosy plain & simple!
