Thanks SandRat for your explination. It was a mystery to me why a kit from Ford Motor Co. was needed when all the materials needed to remedy the Butyl Pad problem are available at any common Hardware or Auto Paint outlet.

The wonderment was mulitiplied because I did the repair, adhesive clean up, and painting without any directions. A nice clean job. Your explination erases my bewilderment. Thanks.
