I can not get my 93 f150 to start. I have narrowed it down to the injectors. There is good pressure at the rail. I have the rail removed with the injectors and fuel ilines in place. With the ignition on and when I am cranking over the engine only the injectors for cylinders 1 & 2 spray any fuel. I swapped them with the injectors from cyliders 3 & 4 to seeif they woul spray fuel in those two spots.they did not instead the injectors I pulled from the 3 and 4 cylinders and moved to 1 & 2 fired. Now i am thinking it may be an electrical problem. With my multi meter I found voltage at all plugs and while turning over the engine the voltage would cycle at all connectors. I am stumped confused and broke any help would be great
Long shot but worth the effort as price is only your time. Check all the circuit connectors and grounds for corrosion, I have seen where you can measure voltage with a meter but when you put a current draw on the circuit the voltage drops to close to zero. This is caused by the voltage being dropped on the resistance of the corrosion.
Good luck.
Missing info. I forgot to mention that I have a 95 engine in my 93.I put the original harness from the 93 back on and I now have fuel at all injectors.
However I now have a 95 engine with its compter in my 93 truck and the harness from the 93. There is no IAT sensor on the 95 intake but there is a plug for the sensor on the 93 harness . Do i need to swap out the intakes??? which computer should I use
You have to decide where to make the transition. I would make the transition at the engine block. Use all the 93 wiring and anything else you need to make the 95 block look like a 93 engine. In other words, "dress" the 95 engine with 93 configuration. You have to think about ordering parts and resale too. It might be less head scratching at the parts counter if you just make it a 93.
The '95 5.0 and '93 5.0 F150 engines are essentially the same but the fuel injection control system is different and the ECMs are not interchangeable. The 95 5.0 is MAF(mass air flow) control with "sequential fuel injection". Each injector fires individually for each cylinder. The '93s are S/D (speed density) control. The injectors fire in banks. The injectors on the left side of the engine fire and then the right hand side fires, left, right, etc....... The firing order also is different on the 95 engine. To make your engine work you would need a wiring harness form a 95 or in it's present configuration, use the upper and lower intake, from the 93. I don't know how crucial the IAT sensor is but I do know it will give a trouble code if it's not hooked up, and I also know the engine will run with it disconnected. Hope this helps
