Crop Circles

Anybody see last night's Discovery Channel about crop circles? I'm inclined to believe all those things are man made, but it is still interesting to ponder.
I learned crop circles were reported 100's of years ago. I hadn't known that.
The video showing the ball of light was pretty bizzare. I wish they had an explanation for that.

Some of the patterns are quite impressive. Going WAAAYYY beyond mere circles. I get a kick out of the theories that some come up with to explain them all.
I thought the bit about some guy developing a 5th theorem of Euclidian geometry based on crop circles was, ummm, "interesting".

Anybody ever seen a crop circle?
Anybody ever walked in one? Did you get all dizzy feeling or did you feel euphoric, or did you feel a pressure in your chest, or did you poop your pants and run away?

I think, pretty sure, I'[ve seen the show you're talking about. Pretty crazy stuff. I think some may be man made but some are WAY too complex and complicated to be done by humans without some advanced technology. Govt, aliens, magnetic fields( ya right), a bunch of drunk hillbillies... whatever it is, its pretty danged smart.

And The guy that came up with the 5th theorem is Steven Hawkins. Considered to be the most intelligent person in the world. Its amazing what hes done with his life given his inability to do much of anything but read. I'd say he rivals Einstein(sp?) as far as intellegence and ability to see things most people couldnt dream of.

Yep - Steven Hawking was born before his time....
his mind is WAY out there in pure theory land !!!!

in a hundred years they may have the technology to make him more mobile....
(also, we may be advanced enough to entertain some of his thoughts !!!!)
but if he were more mobile and pre-occupied with the things we mobility people do... would he have explored with his mind as much ????

Almost as interesting a question as the crop circle question....

I have not seen the show you are asking about but just to let yall know that a friend of mine and I are thinking of planiting about 250 acres of soybean in a circular pattern starting at the center of the field, or maybe a spiral pattern.

Ball lightning is extremely rare.
Well, it hit our front yard about 10 years ago! It blew a hole in the ground (a small crater), and sounded like a atom bomb. My brother and I were playing video games in the basement on the front side of the house, saw a white flash, and when the flash dispanded, we saw dirt falling to the ground. My brother went into shock.
It zapped 3 tv's in our house, as well as a cordless phone base station, and a VCR (my computer was uneffected!). Not sure how they were destroy, possibly from the EMP. We thought it was simply regular bolt lightning, but a few neighbors told us they saw something hovering pass the houses across the street and then into the ground in our yard.

I whitnessed ball lightning as a child, i was around 9 years old and my botehr and i were at a cookout at a state park, we had to run for the car as it statrted pouring buckets i was right behind my brother when he stopped short, right directly in front of him about 5 feet was a blueish ball of plasma just floating about 2 feet above the ground, of course i had no idea what it was at the time, i would later put two and two together and figured it to be ball lightning.
