Ive got a 67 2 wheel drive,F 100 shortbed. The body is done and painted and would like to install a 87 302 out of a lincoln. The motor has a throttle body injection. What motor mounts would be used? The tranny is a older C6 out of a station wagon that had a 289.I could also use the overdrive tranny out of the lincoln. If anyone has any info it would be appreciated. moparnut
Sounds like a fun swap. First off, you can use motor towers and mounts from a 1970-1979 2 wheel drive with a 302. They will work fine and are not too hard to find. The next thing is the trans. A 289 station wagon never came with a C6 so you should look into what you have before you consider using it. Personally I think the AOD would be a better choice and would be easier because your late model engine has a different balance from an early engine so an early C6 flywheel will not fit your engine so you would have to find a flywheel with the correct balance for your late engine (and I think the AOD one is too small). What year wagon had the 289?? Must be mid 60's(Like a galaxie ).
Like Hawkrod mentioned, the motor mounts are pretty easy to come by. Depending on if the truck was a small block before you may need to change the frame perches also. Again, not a hard thing to do. It will all bolt in really easy from there.
If you use the OD tranny from lincoln, you'll have the cable for it(hopefully). Those early AOD had a cable to control shift points, so if you have all the proper parts, it should be an easy bolt in. The tranny mount is not a deal either. The crossmember is easy to adjust and re-drill frame(been there). Did you plan on keeping the electronics or switch to carb?
Like mentioned, the balance on these motors are different from early small blocks so you have to watch what flywheel you use. I'd keep it all lincoln. You could put some decent gear out back, but have easy cruisin' with OD.

If you're a real mopar nut you should drop in a 440/727 into your '67 then you'd have a real runner. 4bbl, hemi grind cam, 2500 rpm stall, headers, and watch out!!
Jordan........put down the wrenches and step away from the truck..........LOL!!
Come on....A Mopar in a Ford!!! Geez, don't even think that...........
Gunno have to send you over to the street rod guys with their Cheby powered Ford rods
Thanks for all the replies,Been worried about this for awhile.Hate to get started on something and find out you have to change.Hawkrod ,I see what your saying. Those few tips will save me alot of running around.Freighttrain ,I have the cable intact with the tranny so that should work out fine. The pad on the motor said 67,and was told by the oldtimer it was a wagon.Jstandle, the reasonfor the moparnut handle. My other toy is a 69 charger 383 HP 335 horse factory,4spd,the motor will have to stay in that. They didnt make many 4spd chargers. Looks like the lincoln drive line will be the way to go.Now can anyone give any advice on getting rid of the front drums and converting to disc.Ive converted a few cars over in the past.I would even rather go with manual disc if the swap would be easier.finger is getting tired will check back.moparnut Ive got a few things extra for a 67.If I can help anyone out let me know.Right now a pair of front fenders, not perfect but descent.
jowilker,Copied the conversion for my application (cool).Ive found out more here in two days than I could of in 6 months of asking around. Thanks alot Im off to the junk yard to find some parts. moparnut
