I posted awhile ago about a 71 ford f100. The engine in the truck is a 360 with a c4 tranny. I've got a motor in the basement which i have been told by the previous owner told me is a 400 with 30k miles on the engine and a rebuilt c4 tranny with 3k miles on it out of a landau. the engine has an electronic ignition on it as well. I'd like to put this engine in the truck but i know nothing about 400s. Also was wondering what vehicals i can rob a floor shifter out of and what would steering colums i can use in this truck with out shifters on the tree? Thanks guys
i switched my 3 speed c-6 auto to a floor shifter and got a floor shifter from a junk yard out of a 92 t-bird that also had a c-6.
i couldnt get the cable end of it to link up to mine so i cut and welded the stock shift linkage that went from the engine compartment to the tranny. when i was done the overall lenght went from about 2 1/2 feet to about 6-8 inches. i also had to go buy new nylon bushings to hold it in place. they were about $1.50 each.
i own a 1970 f-100 w/a 390, c-6
