paint intake manifold or not?

I am getting ready to put a new wieand intake manifold on my 351w. was wondering about the benefits/drawbacks of painting the intake. My truck is not a show truck by any means, but I wouldn't mind making the engine look a little better. I was thinking about going with dark ford blue, that is the color of my valve covers. also thinking about painting the air cleaner to match. Just looking for opinions. thanks,Ben

Aluminum?A good friend of mine glass beads them and then shoots 'em with clear. But there not daily drivers and the clear holds up great (1 on his pro-street nova is 15-16 yrs. old) it breaks it up nicely, the motor is actually "dark"ford blue.I just did one for another "bud" in the cast-iron that also looks good and breaks it up with a matching blue air breather.Just my $.02

Not to hijac this, but everybody put your hands up. JK I have a 1995 F150 with a 300, the intake is starting to "flake" at all the sharp edges on it. What would be the best way to clean this up? Bead it or dip it then paint it?

On the first subject, shoot clear acrylic enamel from a spray can after masking the ports. Shoot about 4-5 coats and it will look great and hold off the ravages of gas and dirt. It will look like a million. Rustoleum clear is great stuff. Just shoot a number of coats so you have plenty of protection.
