chips?
when you get a chip made and you use it on your truck and then when you go to sell your truck can you use this chip on another truck providing it is the same type of engine or are they made for one specific set up.Please reply thanks

They are specific to each trucks PCM. And each year may have many PCM codes for both auto and manual tranny's. But if you do trade up, most chips can be reflashed to a different PCM code, but it usually costs ya about 50 bucks.

For diesels if you use a modern 4-bank chip they are not code specific. Rather, the programmer picks the best code family based on your needs and automatic/manual. In the majority of cases all 1994.5-1997 diesel automatic codes are interchangeable, same with the manuals.
