I'm not sure what you are asking. When you say sticker, I'm assuming you mean MSRP? You surely shouldn't pay $28,770 for this truck. You should pay approx. $23,378 after the $2,500 rebate. Stick to your guns.

BTW - I paid $29,530 for my 2004 4X2 Lariat SCREW back in Nov 2003 it has all the bells and whistles. The only rebate available was a $750 Military. MSRP was $35K. That being said, hold the dealers feet to the fire and get a much lower price than $28,770. Good Luck!
I never even got as far as asking for a quote. The $28,770 was the window sticker which included the dreaded "destination charge". My '02 Super Duty with 31,000 miles should be worth quite a bit should I decide to trade.

That's the next thing you need to disabuse yourself of. There is no such thing as trading a car in. What you have are two separate transactions. You are buying their vehicle and asking them to buy your vehicle. Keep them separate. Do not bring up the trade until you know their bottom line and then bring in your "trade." Otherwise you will just be giving your truck away. You will be truly astonished at how low they go to buy your vehicle. Sell it privately or be prepared to be fleeced. Sorry, but that's just the way the game is played.

Know what your 02 Superduty is worth before you go in. Like Missouri Mule said, they will offer you a very low price for your truck. Do the research on the internet and know what a fair deal is before you head to the dealer. YOu will surely do better selling it yourself if that's an option for you.

This is exactly the right thing to do. Go to an online like Kelly Blue book and look for both trade in value and private sale value. Check some used truck sale adverts also. You'll not get as much for trade in as private, but if you do go trade in route this info is critical to your best deal. Mulehead is right they will try to lowball you, but you'd be surprised how much they will bend if you stick to your guns and are willing to walk.
