I have a '99 F-150 Offroad, and I will soon need tires. Right now, it has the factory 17" aluminum directionals and Goodyear Wranglers (can't remember the exact model) tires. I mainly drive on the highway (90%), occasionally off road to farm/hunt/fish (10%). What tires to you recommend? Which ones should I avoid? Give me good tires at different price ranges. The ones I've priced range from $550-$800. I'm also thinking about 16x8 wheels and 285/75 tires for appearance. What are your thoughts about all of this? Thanks.
I think they're 265/70r17 from fact. and they ain't cheap. But if you change to 16'' the tires are a little cheaper but the cost of the wheels is gonna add to it.Dunlop Radial Rover A/T,Winston Winner LT,Uniroyal Laredo,BFG Long Trail T/A are all good highway tires with a little bit of bite for off-road.But I don't know if all of these are avail. in 17".
I have a 05 X diesel and want to go with Michs. next time around. Present size is LT 265-75-16D BFG's and they're getting louder by the mile. Michs. web site indicated they do not make this size. 99% highway miles at high speed, what would you recommend?
Sorry, don't mean to be rude to a new user, but try not to do that.
For mostly highway driving, the BFG Rugged Trails or AT's will do you well. I had the BFG AT's on my wifes truck and all she did was highway and got 60K out of them.
The BFG Rugged Trails on my 04 SD worn very well, not much to say about their off-road prowess though.
Check out Toyo AT's, Nitto Terra Grapplers, BFG AT's and GY AT/S or RT/S. You won't go wrong with any of those. Also had good luck with Dueller AT's, but that was on my, Ahhhem, Chebbie.
