Sorry RJLB. I should have said "they" instead of "you", as in people and mechanics in general. I didn't choose my words very well. But I think it is very disappointing the shop you took your vehicle to didn't leave any clue as to what is in the system of your Mercury.

My apologies also RJLB. I did not intend for my comment to sound like an attack on you. I was only confirming that franklin2 was correct in his statement. I will be more careful in my posts in the future. It is not my wish or intent to offend anyone on this board. This board is an exceptional place to get helpful information, and my only wish is to help other people as much as they have helped me.

thank you and I accept.I like this board, and I am a member to other boards.I am a mechanic and I would like to help people fix problems,Where my expertise may be helpful .And to those who may be worried about the o-zone and freon I would not ever discharge a system into the open air.Just like I would not hook up a can of freon to the high side of an a/c system.And that's why I asked your advice.But now we can all start over and get back on track on fixing the old fords talk to you guys soon.Thanks again for all your help.RJLB....
