I'm trading in my 2000 F-150 for a new F-150 super cab fx4 today. Pretty much loaded the same as my old one with a few more goodies.I'll be pretty happy if the new truck is as reliable and solid as my 2000,but I'm starting to have my druthers after reading about all the vibration complaints on here.I got a pretty good trade in on my old one so i thought it was time to trade. Anybody think the 04 is compatible to the 00?
Redpub - I did almost the same trade back in september. "Old" one was a '99 though. I love the new FX4, and it is a lot more enjoyable to drive. Unfortunately for me, I discovered this site after I received my truck, and with all the vibration talk, I think I talked myself into having a vibe. Just kidding. I actually do have a slight driveline vibration at certain speeds, but it is not nearly as bad as some of these guys have. Not nearly enough for me to stop grinning ear to ear. Good Luck.
Get one without the Vib and you have an unbelievable machine. Other than being extremely thirsty (like every other manufacturer's machine), it is damn near perfect.
Thanks for the replies. Had it 2 days now and she seems like a pretty nice machine.I noticed the shifting is a little different in this one.I went thru the manual and noticed 2nd gear is set up a little different. We have a 3/4 mile gravel hill to climb to get home and I'll just have to figure which gear handles it best.I only take it about 10 mph since it gets rough sometimes.
I had an 97 SCAB 4 wd off road with 5.4 and I can tell you my new SCAB FX4 has more power, rides better, tows so much better you cant believe it and gets better fuel mileage to boot...and I paid less for it in 04 than I paid for the 97 when it first came out! MSRP in 97 was 32k and I paid 26k and the new one was at 37k and I paid 24k so I am very happy and no vibration issue on mine.
Flareside loaded. Sticker is $38,965. Dealer cost $34,327. Edmunds quotes about $32,844 with the $2K rebate. Any suggestions for my cost based on what you all paid? THANKS.
Mine listed at $37,100 . everything but leather seats and I opted for the overhead console instead of the moonroof.I get more use from the extra storage .I didnt get the rebate but took the 0% financing instead. So far a nice truck. Its even good lookin full of mud with only 500 miles on it.
Mine was $38,815 for supercab flareside, got everything on it except adjustable pedals and I got ford to come down to $30k plus tax, tags, title, extended warrenty and such and 0%. I am very happy with the price over all.
