P1780 OBDII code

When I get the code from the computer it's a P1780. I found that the code's description is: P1780 Trans Control Switch (O/D Cancel) Out of Self Test Range, but what does this mean and how do I resolve it. Any and all suggestions/recommendations are welcome. HELP!!!

Did you get a check engine light or a flashing o/d or something different to indicate you had a problem? I guess what I mean is what prompted you to pull a code? Thanks, hope someone has a answer for you/us!

Yes, the O/D light blinks after driving about 3 miles.

Can you disable the OD by push the TCS?

There are really only three things that can be wrong if you can't, bad wiring, not to likely on a newer truck. A bad TCS, most likely cause. And the last, a bad PCM.

If the TCS works, does the indicator light work?

Wiring and PCM are the possibilities here.
