Thanks BigF350, it's my wifes car, and if she gets her way, I may not be driving it anymore. After we get it painted orange, she wants to put cheetah spots on the hoodscoop, spoiler, and on the space where the rubber strip runs down the side. Whats with women and cats? I told her I would never drive it that way. I might ride in it, but I will not be caught alone in it.

Thats awesome!!!
I was bored and I did up my missus' car (1996 RX-7 SP) and I almost got slaughtered for it, said she didn't want me stuffing around with it
On the plus side, now it will easily run 12s quarters
I don't know if she appreciates that as much as I do though...

Funnily enough she put leopard seat covers in it though...

Capris are way cool though
I used to get a car magazine, EVO, and one of the editors built a Capri as a track car, spent around US$70000 on it, was one impressive car, can't find the article on the net on it though...

I believe that 1986 was the last year of the fox Capri. My son still has an 86 Capri 5.0 and a 86 Mustang GT.

I raced a '71 Capri in our local mini-stock class back in '90-'93, powered by the German built 2.0. Great engine, and it was a fast little car. I was looking for pics of it to scan, but could only find one that wasn't very good. But, as pointed out, there was no connection between the Capri and the Mustang until '79 when Capri production was moved to the US and it was built on the Fox platform. Now, the Mustang II was built on the Pinto chassis, with the wheelbase stretched a few inches. It was wider and shorter than the early Capri, with totally different front suspension. (Conventional front suspension on the Mustang II/Pinto, MacPherson struts on the Capri). -TD
