my power steering is leaking again. I fixed the hose on the pump, but now it's coming from somewhere else. picrure this, I am under the truck(in line with the tires) and looking up at the steering column coming through the firewall. Then there is arm are that comes down to a bushing(this is where it is leaking), then another little arm, then to another bushing to a bar that connects the steering(i'm sorry that i don't know what the names of the parts are). Well power steering fluid is leaking out on the bushing that goes up to the steering box thingy. I did not see any fliud coming out from the column/box/ or anything up that high, I only see it coming from right around the bushing, and it comes out a lot. Is there a name for this and is it easy to fix/replace?

I was looking at the repair manual this morning and the fluid is leaking from the connection between the pitman arm and the steering box. I cannot tell from the book if there is a seal or gasket or nothing. Does anyone know what there is or if anything else usually leaks from around there?
I have had it leak from the steering box and had to get a rebuilt one. It was a 1 hr fix. took longer to get the box and the arm off. than anything else. this was on my 93. What year and size vehicle are we talking?
I had the exact problem on my 79 f250, the shaft that you are talking about is the steering box output shaft, there are seals and washers around it, a rebuild kit cost about $15. In my case I am running 38's so the seals blew out again instantly after I rebuilt it! I bought a new steering box for $250, and havent had a problem since. Hope this helps
