Vented gas cap?

Vented gas cap?
Where can I get a vented gas cap for a 79 ford f-150? I did a motor swap to a 71 429 w/o emissions and replaced the tank to the unvented 78 version and now I have alot of air trapped inside. Thanks

I have tried, those guys around here are idiots and no offense to the ladies, but most of them don't have a clue about what you are looking for. I am in the Marines and most are just some Marine's wife who has never even held a wrench. So they are not much help.

I just replaced the vented gas cap for my 1978 Bronco. I got it at Advance Auto. They had one in stock which was the wrong one. It did not have the two sets of tabs behind the top of the cap that fit down into the gas filler neck. It only had one set of tabs and the they were too close to the rubber gasket to twist the cap on. They had to order me the other one. Their computer had a picture of it so I could tell that it was the cap I needed. It was about $6.00.
By the way, our local NAPA store tends to have more competent help but they are closed when I get off from work, so I have had to learn how to deal with the Advance Auto "boys."

Is this quote something you would do? Can you just drill a hole in the gas cap for venting?
I am trying to find a vented gas cap for my 77 f150 and am having trouble finding one that fits.

I ordered one from Kragen that was vented, but wound up just drilling a hole in the old one because it closes better.

i picked up , what was supposed to be a vented one from napa, when it didn't vent, and i almost got showered in gas, i drilled a hole out to the last layer, but still under a little tin cover to keep rain out...... works for me
